About Cipher Blackjack

Cipher Blackjack is a card simulation played against a dealer hand. It uses a shoe made from 6 standard decks. The shoe is rebuilt when fewer than 20 cards remain, so play continues without requiring a manual shuffle control. The aim is to finish closer to 21 than the dealer without going over 21.

The available round sizes are 50, 100, 250, and 500 GC. Glow Credits are shared across all games, stored only in browser localStorage, and start at 5,000 GC. No account is created, no registration is offered, and there is no purchase flow. If the balance falls below 100 GC, the system restores it to 5,000 GC automatically, and Free top-up remains available.

The player actions are Hit, Stand, and Double. Hit takes another card. Stand keeps the current total and moves play toward dealer resolution. Double doubles the round size, deals exactly one additional card, and then ends the player’s drawing phase. The result and card totals are also recorded in the text log under the table.

How to play

  1. Select the round size

Choose 50, 100, 250, or 500 GC before the hand starts. This amount is subtracted when the hand is dealt.

  2. Review the first cards

You receive two cards, and the dealer receives two cards with one visible card. Aces count as 11 when possible, otherwise as 1.

  3. Choose an action

Use Hit to draw another card, Stand to keep your total, or Double to double the round size, take exactly one card, and stop drawing.

  4. Let the dealer resolve

After you stand or complete a Double, the dealer draws to 17 and stops on any 17, including soft 17. The final totals determine credits returned.

The rules in full

Cipher Blackjack uses standard card values. Number cards count as their face value. Jacks, queens, and kings count as 10. An ace can count as 11 or 1, depending on which value gives the hand the best valid total. If a hand goes over 21, the ace value is reduced where possible before the hand is treated as over 21.

A two-card 21 is treated specially. When the player’s first two cards total 21 with an ace and a 10-value card, the hand returns at 3 to 2 unless the dealer result creates the applicable tie condition in the engine. A regular successful hand returns doubled round size. A tie returns the original round size.

The dealer rule is fixed. The dealer draws until reaching at least 17 and then stops on any 17. This includes soft 17, where an ace is still counted as 11. The dealer does not make discretionary choices. Once the dealer stops or goes over 21, the game compares the final totals and applies the listed return behaviour.

The shoe contains 6 decks and is rebuilt when fewer than 20 cards remain. All Glow Credit activity remains inside the browser simulation. GC cannot be bought, transferred, or converted into money. Browser data clearing can reset the stored balance and any local progress, which is not a loss of value. The interface provides keyboard-accessible controls and a text log for each hand.

Actions and blackjack returns

HitDraw one additional card and continue if the total is 21 or below.
StandKeep the current total and proceed to dealer play.
DoubleDouble the round size, receive exactly one card, then stop drawing.
Dealer ruleDealer draws to 17 and stands on all 17 totals, including soft 17.
Two-card 21A player 21 made from the first two cards returns 3 to 2.
Regular successful handReturns doubled round size.
TieReturns the original round size.
Shoe rebuildThe 6-deck shoe is rebuilt when fewer than 20 cards remain.
Randomness. Cards are drawn from the simulated six-deck shoe, and the shoe is rebuilt according to the fewer-than-20-cards rule. Card order is random within that process. Decisions can affect how a particular hand is played, but they cannot determine the next card, the dealer’s hidden card, or the rebuilt shoe order.

Cipher Blackjack: questions

When does the dealer stop drawing?

The dealer draws until reaching 17 or more and stops on every 17 total, including soft 17.

What does Double do?

Double increases the round size to twice the original amount, gives exactly one additional card, and then ends the player drawing phase.

Where is my balance stored?

The shared Glow Credit balance is stored only in your browser localStorage. Clearing browser data may reset it, and Free top-up can restore play credits.
